To succeed, there were no magic answers. I had to understand my shadows: moderation was never going to work for me to lose weight. Removing processed foods, especially salt, oil, and sugar, has been especially important for me.

Understanding my hunger drive has been a long, complex process that I am beginning to share. I will be doing so through this blog and my social media. The answers are hard, but they feel like magic, from the inside out. And, all the answers lead to better health and wellness!

Living Under Siege: Face Failure

The battle to center my own health and wellness has been a lifelong one. For years, I failed against the pull of rich, unhealthy foods. No matter how much I wanted to live a healthy life, I was living under siege and could not find a way out of this battle.

Facing failure has meant acknowledging how deeply these foods impact me. I had to reject society's messages of moderation around these foods and had to leave them behind altogether.

Winning the Battle: Rise Anew

Rising anew has meant centering unprocessed plants in my life. I avoid all salt, oil, and sugar as well as some other personal trigger foods. This has helped me win the battle with an ongoing action plan: eat plants and avoid processed foods.

Transcending my shadows has been a journey of finding my own power to resist the pull of rich, unhealthy foods. And, it is through action that I continue to transform shadows.
