When I went to the store today, I focused on just a few things that I needed to rebalance myself on Tuesday. The most important thing I bought was the fresh greens and cabbage for either a salad or smoothie (blended salad). I have vegetables coming from friends’ garden tomorrow, and I hope to make a trip to the Farmers’ Market on Tuesday, where I can get kale and leaf lettuce (depending on how work goes).

Rebalance with Ready-to-Eat Greens and Fruits

Despite my best intentions, my meals got sloppy over the long weekend. My balance of the foods got off, and I had too much fruit and too many higher calorie density foods, such as nuts.

This is a normal part of getting off balance for me. Today, I am readjusting. When I went to the store, I prioritized fresh greens and fresh fruits that are ready to eat, so I can find a sense of balance again.

This is a muscle I flex frequently, a muscle that allows me to move in and out of successes and failures, to help me navigate the differences between my expectations and reality.

Having whole plants has helped me find my power. This week, I will get myself back in balance with:

• Leafy Greens

• Beans

• Vegetables

• Onions

• Mushrooms

• Whole Grains

• Berries and Fruits

• Nuts and Seeds (only a few)

I have not always known how to navigate this line between my perceptions of success and failure. And, I was never going to succeed in finding this success when I was eating the foods that dysregulated my hunger drive.

Learning how to find balance between success and failure, between expectations and reality has been an important part of my my journey to transform shadows.
